
1. To operate as a not-for-profit educational institution dedicated to serving the training and certification needs of public safety professionals across various technical fields, the Deep South Public Safety Institute (DSPSI) aims to enhance public safety education.
2. To unite individuals interested in the engineering, construction, and maintenance of Municipal, County, State, and Federal electrical signal and communication systems, including but not limited to Traffic Control Signals, Fire Alarm systems, Work Zones, Traffic Signs & Markings, Roadway Lighting, Fiber optics, Transportation Center System Specialties, Radio, and Public Safety Reporting Systems, while developing standards for the safe installation and efficient operation of such systems.
3. To promote a uniform understanding and adoption of these standards, and to collect and disseminate valuable information for the benefit of the industry, particularly in public safety education.
4. To enhance technical cooperation among industry members, improving the efficiency of Signals and Communications systems and facilitating open discussions on engineering matters related to safety training.
5. To collaborate with other organizations whose objectives align with those of the Deep South Public Safety Institute (DSPSI).
6. To promote training and educational programs geared toward the certification of technicians in public safety fields relevant to the organization’s mission.
